*If this is your first time sharpening with me and your shears have been previously serviced by someone else, don’t worry—I specialize in repairing the damage left behind by bad sharpening jobs. In many cases, I can restore your shears to proper function and performance.
However, some types of damage cannot be fully reversed, including:
- Excessive heel removal (shortens the life of the shear)
- Improperly ground ride lines
- Bent or warped blades from poor tensioning or hammering
- Uneven blade lengths from sloppy grinding
If your shears have any of these issues, I’ll assess the damage and let you know what’s possible before moving forward. My goal is always to get your tools performing at their best—with honesty and integrity. I also carry a range of excellent shears, picked from a both a performance and sharpen-ability perspective. Please ask to take a look at our shears when we visit.

Low-quality or “value” brand blades can sometimes be sharpened, but not always. The steel and construction on these blades are often inconsistent, which can make sharpening difficult—or in some cases, not possible at all. While I’ll always do my best, I can’t guarantee results on these types of blades.
For best performance, I recommend sticking with high-quality, trusted brands—and if you need replacements, I carry a selection of professional-grade blades available for purchase. Please ask to take a look when I visit.

Repair pricing is simple:
Parts + $15 labor. No surprises. No inflated costs. *Please make a note of what problems you're experiencing with your clippers when scheduling! I carry many but not all parts and may need to order parts specific for you before your appointment.
